Custom Japan Travel Planning
Japan is not one trip

Neon-lit nights in Tokyo, early mornings in Kyoto, powder snow in Hokkaido, or slower days shaped around ryokan, onsen, and exceptional food. Tell us how you want to travel, and we design the route, the stays, and the experiences around you.

We reply within two business days, usually with a few questions. Your written day-by-day itinerary and quote follow by email.

    The process

    How it begins

What happens after you send the form.

    01

    Your brief

Your dates, pace, who is travelling, and what matters most to you.

    02

    Your itinerary and quote

We shape the route, the stays and the experiences around you, then send a written day-by-day plan, costed in full.

    03

    Your decision

Review it in your own time and tell us how you would like to proceed.

    What you receive

A written itinerary, not a list of links

Each day is composed by hand — where to be, when, where to stay, and the small decisions that make the difference. A few days from a sample journey are shown below.

Stay — a restored machiya townhouse with a small interior garden.

    Day 05

Stay — a ryokan above the valley.

    Questions Worth Asking

What happens after I send my itinerary request?

We read your dates, interests and who is travelling, and reply within two business days. We may ask a few questions first. We then prepare a written day-by-day itinerary with a full quote and email it to you.

Do you only plan luxury trips to Japan?

Magnificent Japan specialises in luxury and premium itineraries: boutique hotels, ryokan stays, immersive experiences and private guiding. Where it helps, we blend comfort and value, and we always suggest options that fit your travel style.

Can you design trips for solo travellers, couples and groups?

Yes. We create tailor-made trips for solo travellers, couples, friends travelling together and larger groups. Tell us who is travelling, and we design the pacing, activities and accommodation around them.

How far ahead should I get in touch?

Three to six months before travel gives the widest choice of ryokan, guides and restaurants. Cherry blossom, autumn foliage and the New Year period fill earlier, so for those seasons, write as soon as your dates are likely.

What does the written itinerary include?

A day-by-day plan: where to be and when, your stays, the experiences we have arranged, and the transfers between them. It arrives costed in full, so you can see what the trip involves before you decide.

Who books and pays the hotels, guides and transfers?

We do. Magnificent Japan books every stay, guide and transfer in the itinerary and pays the suppliers on your behalf, so you deal with one invoice and one point of contact rather than a dozen.

Can I change the itinerary after I receive it?

Yes. The first itinerary is a starting point. Tell us what to adjust, from a slower pace to a different region, and we refine the plan with you until it feels right.
